Expectation
I was a Girl Scout in junior high school when I joined my first Scout camping trip in the mountains of Tanay, Rizal. Hiking was arduous, survival training was challenging, and of course we slept in tents at the end of the day.
"In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?" Have you ever wondered what Jesus meant by "many rooms" here in John 14:2?
Except for grocery and drugstore runs, I've been "holed up" in our house for about 10 months now. My world has been about the house, the garden (which is not thriving as I expected), my mom, video calls, social media, TV, and my dogs, Powder and Alpha. Inspiration sometimes comes from these frisky creatures as you will see below.
It seems like the burden is all on our shoulders but if we look at the testimony of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, the burden is actually the Lord God’s. From the beginning to the end of the Bible, it is Him who created, guided, saved, blessed, made a way, and told us to cast all our cares on Him. An abundant life awaits those who do so.
