Uncashed "Checks"

Updated: Nov 30, 2020

From the fall of man in the Garden of Eden to thousands of years after that, we have been struggling to live as God made us to be – His image and likeness.

The search wil lead you back to God.
God's promises may just be the confirmation, assurance, or answer you've been looking for.

The truth is we don't need to do that as it is already a fact. It is a given.

When Jesus Christ was born however, He spoke the truth about who we are, our purpose, and our destiny. The life He gave on the cross allowed us to have eternal life. By trusting in Jesus Christ, we step into a secure relationship with God our Father.

You are now His son or daughter and not just His creation. That relationship carries with it multiple promises that are ours to enjoy. The fact is, however, many of us are not aware of these promises and therefore do not lay claim to them.

Hidden in the cracks

Have you ever heard of this story? For 35 years a single mother lovingly took care of her son with autism. She held more than one job in order to provide for her son’s special care and save for his future needs when she is no longer able to. Everyone who knew them were witness to this family’s struggle and love for each other. The mother eventually passed and care had to be arranged for his son.

Friends were worried because the money she left was not enough to take care of her son’s needs. When their friends came to help the son pack up the house, they noticed that there were bits of paper stuffed in various cracks in the walls. They took the papers out and were surprised to discover that they were social security checks! Through the years, her son had been filling the cracks in their house with mail from social security. The total amount of uncashed checks in the house were enough to put the son in a good care facility for the rest of his life.

Especially for you

Can you imagine how many “uncashed checks” you have?

You may have been missing out on God’s promises for a long time now. In this last blog on Identity, I am listing a smidgen out of thousands of God’s powerful promises.* They are true and given for you and me. Believe them and be encouraged as you live your life as God’s own child.

• I am loved by God and nothing can separate me from Him.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ; (Ephesians 1:3)
